Flounders Pool Sessions - General Information
(Added by WebMaster on 01/10/2011 at 09:00:00)

Lessons are back on after the Summer Closure on 7th September

Flounders sessions are half an hour in duration and the swimming lessons run at the following times at the St Ivo pool:

  • Friday 6-7pm (2 half hour sessions)
  • Saturday 9 – 10am & 10 – 11 am. These sessions are for the Pre Comp group only (those wishing to further their swimming training after learning the basics) in the deep end
  • Sunday 4-5pm (2 half hour sessions)

Please contact Wendy Chambers for more information and session availability.

In summary:

  • The swimming terms are typically of 10 weeks duration.
  • Lengths swimming for distance awards is usually conducted during week 5 and the penultimate week.
  • Certificates and badges are available from the last week of term - please ask Wendy if your swimmer has achieved a distance award and you can collect the certificate and badge.
  • Personal development records are readily available from the last week and for the first 3 weeks of the term - again please ask Wendy if you wish to see them. However, you can see them at any point during the term, but they will be on poolside with the teacher, so please ask at the beginning of the session so they can be made available for you at the end of the session.

Here at St Ives Swimming Club we recognise how important it is that you have the chance to see what your child's swimming development will cover.

This download provides a checklist of disciplines your child will swim through. This record is available to discuss with our Flounders administrator.
